Whocast #35 - 12.15.05

9 days and counting down to the Christmas Invasion. Can't wait to see it.

My co-host, Danielle, makes a reappearance with her review of the original King Kong and watches the 9th Regeneration scene.

Also have a great review of the Dalek Empire III by our good friend, Asa Swain.

Got plenty of emails from you all and getting caught up on it with you!

Enjoy!

Interesting review of DE3. I drive 30 mins each way to work and back, so there's time to fill with audios. I listened to the entire saga from DE1 through to DE3 in several weeks of travel and was impressed by the scale of it. At the time, I did think the segue from DE2 to DE3 was a bit jarring, but I guess there's only so long you can keep banging on about the Angel of Mercy.

Incidentally, on the subject of audios, one set which tends to be sadly neglected these days is the Audio Visuals range. Made by many of the people now forming Big Finish (Gary Russell, Nigel Fairs, Nick Briggs, etc), they were an excellent (if unlicensed, and pretty dodgy from a rights point-of-view :P) pre-cursor to the Big Finish range. Several of the storylines/plots/characters/situations from the AVs found their way into BF audios (eg Sword of Orion, Minuet in Hell, The Mutant Phase, Calfadoria, Garazone, etc), and if you think RTD was the first person to destroy Gallifrey... think again.
