Here's another mobile Whocast from my car on my way back to Eden Prairie, from Eagle River, WI.

Just going over some more thoughts about The Christmas Invasion, another "This Week in Who" by Ari B, and a new Doctor Who Theme mix by Mark from Germany.

Dani and I would like to wish everyone a safe and prosperous New Year!

Enjoy!

Whocast #37 - 12.27.05

Review of "The Christmas Invasion"!

4 TARDIS out of 5!

David Tennant comes out swinging in his premiere. He is going to be a "FANTASTIC" Doctor. This episode starts a little slow, but when The Doctor appears, it is nothing less than superb. We see the reappearance of Harriet Jones as the Prime Minister of Great Britain, U.N.I.T. and the introduction of "Torchwood"

Great, great episode! I hope you enjoyed it too!

Enjoy!

Whocast #36 - 12.23.05

With 2 days, 16 hours and some odd minutes left, I am previewing The Christmas Invasion.

Just going over the importance of Mars in the canon of Doctor Who. Checking out what is going on over at the BBC Doctor Who Official Website with new trailers , games and pictures of the upcoming special.

Also reviewing the recent updates to Mickey's website, Who is Doctor Who and trying to figure out who Daffodil is and what he/she means to Mickey?

Previewing the first 5 minutes of the Christmas Invasion as what was seen on the Children in Need Telethon. SPOILER ALERT!!! If you want to wait until Christmas to "unwrap" this gift, do not listen for 5 minutes after I tell you on the Whocast.

Other than that, I need to get to bed!!!

Enjoy!

Reggie Dillahunt 1996 - 2005

In Memory of Reggie Dillahunt
October 28, 1996 - November 9, 2005

Our beloved pet passed away this past Wednesday Night in an automobile accident.
Fortunately, it was instantaneous and he felt nothing.
He was loved not only by us in his family, but by all those who knew him.
He will be tearfully missed, but never, ever forgotten.

Podcast coming soon!

Sorry again about the lack of information over the past 2 weeks. Got promoted at work and have been tied up with that, along with getting a new place for Dani and I. Almost have the new lodgings worked out...I'll know more next week.

Currently working on the video podcast review of the Sonic Screwdriver and TARDIS Phone Flasher. Trying out a new intro for this and will have it by the weekend.

Thanks again for the patience and feedback!

Whocast Special Edition #4 - 10.19.05

Welcome to Special Edition #4.

I am going over a majority of the news that hit the Doctor Who world this week.

First and foremost, the announcement of a Doctor Who Spin-off series - Torchwood.

Now we know why Captain Jack is not able to rejoin the T.A.R.D.I.S. crew in Series Two. That's because he is running an investigation bureau in Cardiff. Read the official BBC Press Release here, Outpost Gallifrey's stories here and here, and the Official Doctor Who website story here.

There is a lot more news that I cover, including what Christopher Eccleston has too say about him quitting because he was "exhausted" - read here.

Also vote for Doctor Who as Best Drama, Christopher Eccleston as Best Actor and Billie Piper as Best Actress in the 2005 National Television Awards. Vote Daily...Vote Often!!

A number of listeners' podcasts and website have been forwarded to me and I am now putting them in them in a special link section on the left. The links have been separated into Doctor Who Links and Listener's/Contributor's Links.

Michael Hickerson and Sarah Hadley's Commentaries are now on a formal webpage where you can listen to them at your leisure. Two Insane Fans - The "Waldorf and Statler" of Fan Commentary

Sean Huxter's incredible Photostory, "Doctor Who - The Second Key" is a site everyone who listens to this Whocast is required to visit. It is too good to be passed over...Go there NOW!!!

Another website, "Doctor Who's Tragical History" was passed on to me by a listener. Please take a look.

Other than the items above, it's been a pretty boring week.

See ya in the videocast later this week!

Enjoy!

Whocast #31 - 10.17.05

All photos are ©2003 Big Finish Productions

Finally Reviewing Doctor Who Unbound #2 - Sympathy for the Devil
This is another carcast while I'm on my way to pick up the Peanut from her grandparents late at night.
Doing some pontificating during the drive on basic irrelavent issues and wasted valuable time for the show.
Playing "The Doctor Who (Multidimensional Mix)" by Chris Adams aka Hardwire in the middle of the show as well as "Doctor Who - Mergeance (Opening Theme)" in the opening.

I did review "Sympathy for the Devil" starring David Warner as the Doctor and Nicholas Courtney as the retired Brigadier. Not a great performance by either of the lead stars, but a well-written story. Lots of references to the episodes of U.N.I.T. adventures during the Pertwee and T. Baker eras. Good plotline and lots of surprises. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but do invite you to listen to it.
One note of contention was in the role of Colonel Woods - portrayed by a little known actor by the name of David Tennant.
We'll be back later this week with another Whocast and a review of the Sonic Screwdriver and TARDIS Phone Alert.

Enjoy!

Whocast #30 - 10.13.05

Hey There Everybody!!!

This TARDIS crew (The Peanut and myself) have travelled through time and space to materialize in a new location/homebase. We are now broadcasting out of Minneapolis, MN, where my job has taken me. We are now completely moved here and that was the "personal stuff" that was keeping me busy over the past few weeks. But we are here now and have put a new Whocast together for you.

I am going over some emails/feedback from the past few weeks. I have also played "Doctor Who - Toxic Adventurer" by Dancing Rat from Whomix Radio. Great remix - it's the only way I can listen to Brittany Spears. Plus as a sidenote, just after he put this up on the Whomix Radio site, Episode 2, The End of the World, came out and this song (the original) was played on Cassandra's iPod (I don't think it was a Video iPod by the looks of it...)

I'm sorry, but again, I didn't end up getting to Doctor Who - Unbound #2, but I will next show.

I have but up a "Links" Section on the webpage, but I need your help. Please get me your podcasts and websites, so that I can create a "Listener's Links" section to help promote your shows and blogs.

Please keep giving me your audio comments and feedback so that I can play them on the show. This is what I'm hearing from other listeners, that they really enjoy about the show. If you have written to me about wanting more listener's reviews, then you need to get me a review yourself. Be Brave! I gave audio feedback a shot, and ended up creating a podcast.

Thanks for everything and talk to you soon!

Enjoy!

Primarily Doctor Who news, music and emails/commentary on this episode.

Here is a snapshot of David Tenant in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire courtesy of MuggleNet.com

Here are some links to coverage of the Regenerations Convention this past weekend - BBC & IcWales.

A great remix of the Doctor Who Theme (Time Tunnel Mix) by Hardwire - Please visit their website and listen to more of their music.

Michael and Sarah have posted their commentary for "The Parting of the Ways" - Mature Language in this - so be warned.

The TSFPN forum for us is up and running - Please visit it and participate with your comments and pontifications. This show's topic poll is "What is your favorite new series toy?" Post your vote at the forum.

I may not have another Whocast for this week, so I apologize in advance if I can't get to it.

Until next time...

Whocast #27 - 09.29.05

All photos are ©2003 Big Finish Productions

I am reviewing Doctor Who-Unbound #1 "Auld Mortality"
This is the first in a series by Big Finish Productions, doing a "What if?" style of episodes of Doctor Who. They are using different actors portraying the Doctor is alternate scenarios from the original mythos. This particular story explores the scenario, "What if The Doctor and Susan never left Gallifrey?" It stars Geoffrey Bayldon and Carole Ann Ford as the 1st Doctor and Susan. It does a wonderful job tying in parts of the original series, as well as ties from the final 7th Doctor New Adventure, Lungbarrow. I try not go give much away as far as the outcome of the story, but do cover some of the general themes of it. I encourage everyone to listen to this one.
I have also discovered on the Outpost Gallifrey forums a proposed remix of Murray Gold's 9th Doctor Theme, by Cyberchild. It is utterly fantastic and I have received permission to play it on the show. I have included a direct link to the website where you can download it.
I'll go over the little Doctor Who news that is out there and announce some of our newest listeners to the show.
Michael Hickerson has begun to revive the forum over at TSFPN.com and let see if we can get everything rolling again on this.

Enjoy!

Whocast #26 - 09.23.05

Reviewing Spearhead from Space and it's Danielle's 3rd Birthday!

How coincidental that I introduce the Third Doctor on her Third Birthday!!!
This is Jon Pertwee's introduction as the Third Doctor - It is also the beginning of Doctor Who being broadcast in full color!
This episode also introduces a lot of new information about the Doctor. We now learn about the Doctor's 2 hearts, his unique cardiovascular system, his non-human blood type and ability for a self-induced deep healing coma.
It also reintroduces U.N.I.T. back into the Doctor Who canon as the adventures of the Third Doctor will be primarily earth-bound as the Time Lords have exiled him on Earth. It brings back Nicholas Courtney as Brigadier Alastair Lethbridge-Stewart, and introduces Caroline John as Liz Shaw.
It also introduces the Autons/Nestene Consciousness created by Robert Holmes, whom I consider the greatest Doctor Who writer EVER!!!

I also get to a few emails before I run out of time!

Happy Birthday again, Danielle!!!!

Enjoy!

Whocast #23 - 09.13.05

Reviewing "The Power of the Daleks".

I am focusing on the relevance of this pivotal episode of Doctor Who, rather than the plot of the story. This episode only exists in whole on audio and photographs. The video/film of this episode was destroyed back in the late '70s. Only a few clips of this remain, of which 2 were just reported discovered yesterday!

You can view the photonovel at the BBC Doctor Who website by following this link!

I also received my set of all 4 Doctor Who Series One DVD's this week! I get to actually watch them on my DVD player later this week! I AM SO EXCITED!!!

Also some of your emails, some news and another Whocast later this week!

Enjoy!
-Tom

Whocast #22 - 09.07.05

Finally back after 3 weeks...Gotcha a Whocast!

First of all, I would like to say to all who have friends and/or relatives who were affected by Hurricane Katrina, that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Let us as a community and as a family do what we can to help out our fellow citizens and human beings by either donating money or blood to the American Red Cross; clothing and toiletries to the Salvation Army or with any local organizations (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL teams, Churches, etc) who are trying to help.

Now on to brighter news...

A lot of new listeners - will cover them, their emails and their posts in another Special Edition Whocast.

Reviewing news from the past 3 weeks - confirmation of the return of Sarah Jane Smith and K-9 to Series 2 - the passing of Michael Sheard - Blue Peter's Doctor Who Monster Contest Winner (The Abzorbaloff).

I will be reviewing Power of the Daleks and the Big Finish Doctor Who-Unbound series in the upcoming weeks.

Enjoy!

Sorry about the DownTime!!!

Hey Everyone,

Sorry about the downtime for the past 3 weeks (now going on 4)! Lots of personal matters have limited any extra time that I would normally have for podcasting to NULL! (A 20th High School Reunion, Recovery from said High School Reunion, New Personel at Work, among the things limiting my time)

I hope to have a podcast for you this weekend. I have been receiving your emails and will try to respond to them as much as possible!

All is not lost, The Professor will return shortly!

Thanks and enjoy your weekend!

But this podcast is nothing but emails, Emails, and EMAILS!!! I love doing dissertations on your emails!

Keep them coming!!! I'll be updating the HTML portion of this page to get the links that I've talked about on this and previous podcasts!!!

I'm covering all the emails, comments and posts that I have not included in the podcasts over the past 2-3 weeks, as well as getting your podcasts and websites out there for the rest of our listening audience to get to know. So bear with me over the next few days as I get them incorporated into the website.

Have a review of This Week in Doctor Who by Ari B. Also a synopsis of "Doctor Who: Inside the TARDIS" with Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Katy Manning in Sydney, Australia by Shenysys (Douglas Alexander) from our Forum.

Whocast #19 - 07.29.05

The T.A.R.D.I.S. - Part 2.

Going over Troughton's and Pertwee's T.A.R.D.I.S.es - the differences in the consoles and console rooms. Tried to get an enhanced podcast going, but unable to do so. I am including a link to a great website: Steven Hill's Doctor Who Image Archive. He has an incredible library of images from throughout the history of Doctor Who. Just go to the TARDIS images to see all images of the T.A.R.D.I.S.

1st pictures of David Tenant as the 10th Doctor are now out! Here's the link.

Going over some new news, your emails and shout-outs real quick, but not doing you listeners any justice. I will be doing a Whocast Supplemental tomorrow to go over all the emails, comments and your podcasts.

Whocast #18 - 07.21.05

Well, if someone can completely screw up a conference call recording, it is "I". Finally got our Sunday call to work with the help of Lady Ozma and Zach, and then I forget to record my own voice. (idiot!) So with some new lessons learned, hopefully we can try this again in August and get this to work properly.

Tonight's episode is going to focus on the T.A.R.D.I.S. I am going to go over what the T.A.R.D.I.S. is and how it has changed over the years. This is going to actually take up at least 3, if not 4 podcasts. I am going to try to make some of these the "enhanced" podcasts via iTunes so that I can include some images with them. This is going to be a "trial" like the Videocast, but we'll see how it goes.

Anyways, thanks again to Lady Ozma, Zach and Brad for trying to work on the conference call. I promise I'll get it right next time!

Remember to go out to Podcast Awards and vote for your favorite podcasts for the upcoming Podcast Expo. I highly recommend The Richard Vobes Show, Slice of Sci-Fi, The Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd, Coverville and The Daily Source Code. There are many other great podcasts in the running also, so please vote for them if you like them.

Talk to you all later!

Enjoy!

Whocast #17 - 07.16.05

Hey Folks,

Sorry about the long wait, but I've finally got some time to get things straightened out for tomorrow. I figure that we'd do the conference call around 3:30pm EST (12:30pm PST, 8:30 GMT) That's when my daugher will be taking her nap and I can do this uninterrupted. I know that not everyone can make it, but this is really a test run to see what we can do with Skype. I've put everybody I have received Skype names from in my list and will try to conference them in. If you want to join in and I haven't got your Skype name, look for Tom Dillahunt or dilly13 in Skype and call me around that time tomorrow and we'll get you in.

Also go over to www.podcastawards.com and vote for Slice of Sci-Fi, The Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd, and the Richard Vobes Radio show. These are great podcasts that I subscribe to and there are more for you to vote for, if you like others. Let's just get out the vote.

I'll get to all the email, forum news and other things on later this week.

I enjoy talking to all of you tomorrow!

Enjoy!

Whocast #15 - 07.06.05

We be talking about "REGENERATIONS"

What are regenerations, how did they get started and how many have there been?

I did this podcast in the car using my iRiver 795 - not horrible quality, but not the best. I definitely need to get another Lapel Mic to get better quality.

Head over to the TSFPN Forum site and vote for your favorite regeneration. I put in my 2¢ worth after all the results are in.

Please keep the feedback coming! I LOVE IT!

Whocast #14 - 07.01.05

Thanks for being patient with me over the last week. It let me catch my breath and get caught up on a lot of little things around the house.

We are now in the iTunes music store. Just do a search for "who" or "tom dillahunt" and you can find Podcast Who. It's only set up under the "Podcasts" category, but I am working on changing it.

Make sure that you continue to go to the forums at The Sci-Fi Podcast Network (see Whocast 13b notes) and chat amongst yourselves and me there. I think that this week's poll question will be, "Who" regenerated the best? Choose your favorite regeneration and we'll post the results next week. This last week's question was "Who did Jack kiss better? The Doctor or Rose" You were evenly split at 50% for each of them.

A bit of a rambling podcast tonight. Reviewing the latest news from Outpost Gallifrey, The Official BBC Doctor Who Website and Big Finish Audio Productions as well as verbally answering more of your email.

I think that I'll be doing a 4th of July podcast as well as another Whocast next Friday.

Thanks for all the feedback and please keep it coming.

Enjoy!

Sorry, No Podcast Tonight

Sorry, Folks!

Been an extremely busy week and haven't had the chance to put together the review for "Forest of Fear" I do have this weekend off from work and should be able to get something together tomorrow or Sunday. I'll definitely have something by Monday.

In the meantime, please visit The Sci-Fi Podcast Network. As stated before, I am honored to be a charter member of this network. There are many fantastic podcasts listed there as well as a forum page for all of us. I will post a poll question related to the latest podcast there and would encourage you to vote.

I'm also working on putting together a Intro Podcast Feed for new listeners. Any suggestions or thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated.

Here are all the links to The Sci-Fi Podcast Network.

Whocast #12 - 06.18.05

Your theories/picks as to who is "Bad Wolf":

#1 = Davros/Emperor Dalek - Most Obvious - Since at the end of Sylvester McCoy's episode, "Rememberance of the Daleks", we saw Davros as the Emperor Dalek, it could very well be him.
Lady Ozma's theory about Colin Baker's episode, "The Revelation of the Daleks" and the Game Spot contestants as to how they got half a million Daleks, is entriguing and very plausible.

#2 = Tied for K-9 and The Valeyard - Since these are not as obvious, I say they both have a great chance of coming true. You all have some great theories for K-9, just being mad that his own spin-off was cancelled as to mine tying him into the destruction of Gallifrey. The Valeyard (Evil incarnation of the Doctor) is another great theory. He was last (and only) seen in the Colin Baker final season of "The Trial of a Time Lord" He was an amalgam of himself, somewhere between his 12th and final incarnation. Quite possible!

#3 = The Master - The Doctor's "Best Enemy" We haven't heard from him since the Paul McGann movie, but he has been in the novelizations and Big Finish Audios. Probable, but unlikely, since RTD stated that he didn't have the Master written in for this series. That, however, doesn't mean that he is lying?!?

#4 = A former companion = Jo Grant? Sarah Jane Smith? Turlough? or how about Adric coming back from the dead? Possible, but highly unlikely.

#5 = A new villain tied into this season = I think that this is the most likely route that RTD would go. This is my theory! I discuss on the podcast that I think that it could be the Editor from "The Long Game" who was not killed in the destruction of the Jagrafas, but was in fact a "HUMAN" Dalek, similar to Lady Ozma's theory, but in human form. (Something that the writers for the new Battlestar Galactica have done with the Cylons.) I also mentioned that it could very possibly be Henry Van Statten, from Episode 6, "Dalek." He regained his memory and access to his technology to get revenge on the Doctor. This was an "Eureka!' moment for me as I was doing the podcast, but another epiphany came upon me as I was writing this post. "Bad Wolf" is ADAM!!! He has to most to gain for revenge upon the Doctor. His fate was too easily written off at the end of the "Long Game" He has the spike port in his head and could have used some of the knowledge gleaned from Satellite Five's computers to regain make some money, escavate Van Statten's catacombs, retrieve and utilize the Cyberman's and Dalek technologies to recreate the Daleks and have his final revenge upon those who abandoned him on Earth. WOW! I should see what exactly I put in my iced tea this morning and get some more! A very wild theory, but entirely plausible in the recesses of my mind.

Let me know your thoughts and enjoy "The Parting of Ways"

We'll talk to you on Monday!

Enjoy!

Whocast #11 - 06.14.05

Reviewing "Bad Wolf".

FANTASTIC EPISODE - 4 out of 5 TARDIS.

We see the culmination of the entire series coming to a head here in this episode to be finalized this Saturday in the final episode "The Parting of Ways" We see references from the Jon Pertwee and Sylvester McCoy eras, we see how the Doctor's meddling in time and events can come back to haunt him, we see Jack - naked.

Email me or post your guess on who "Bad Wolf" really is. I'll put the results and odds up Friday night before the show airs on Saturday. I'll also reveal who I think "Bad Wolf" may be on Friday's podcast also.

Until then...BE A PURIST...AVOID THE INTERNET (except for this podcast)!!!

(O.K. Take a look at Mickey's site also for his feelings on last week's adventure)

Enjoy!

AVOID THE INTERNET THIS WEEK!!!

As the BBC Official Doctor Who website stated this week...STAY OFF THE INTERNET!!!

I FULLY AGREE WITH THEM (except for listening to this podcast!)

With the final episode of Doctor Who coming up this Saturday, there is bound to be leaks as to the identity of "Bad Wolf" and the ending of the series. We will cover some of these things on tonight's podcast, but I encourage all of you not to delve into any spoilers about the series, as it will definitely spoil all the hard work that Russell T. Davies put into this series and this storyline.

It will definitely make Saturday all that more enjoyable.

Thanks for letting me put in my 2¢ worth!

Reviewing 2nd Episode of 10,000 B.C - The Cave of Skulls
This is the very first video podcast that I have attempted. It did take me over 5 hours to create, so if I can't get the creation time down, then it may be the last one.

I even shaved for this podcast.

Let me know what you think.

Whocast #8 - 06.03.05

Finally got around reviewing "The Unearthly Child" - Episode 1

I wanted to try something new with these reviews of the original series. I think you'll like the format, but it still isn't up to the quality that I would like it to be.

When the In-Laws leave, I'll be better prepared and equipped for the next review.
Thanks for all the email and comments - please keep them coming.

Whocast #2a finally fixed

Looks like I finally got Whocast 2a fixed on the site and everyone should be able to access it.

Beware that the audio quality is poor, due to the fact I recorded it on my iTalk/iPod in the car on a trip to Wisconsin, but that's the way I originally did it.

Whocast #7 - 05.31.05

Reviewing Episode#10 - "The Doctor Dances"
2nd part of a two-parter! I rate it 5 TARDIS out of 5

FANTASTIC!!! It seems that the even number episodes (like the Star Trek movies) have been the best (with the exception of "Aliens of London" - #4 and Star Trek #8, whose title I have forgotten)

Best quote: "And everybody lives, Rose...Everybody LIVES!!"

Going over email and comments from the blogs

Reviewing Episode #8 - Father's Day

This one is on par with "Dalek" - 5 TARDIS out of 5.
This is definitely tied for best episode of Doctor Who EVER with "Dalek." This show ran the entire gambit of emotions - love, hate, horror, and was also a tear-jerker! If you have a daughter, you can probably relate to this one.

Brad calls it THE BEST EPISODE EVER!

This is a definite MUST-WATCH!!!

Another Great Episode - 4 TARDIS out of 5.
Russell T Davies does a fantastic job again - This whole series has redefined Doctor Who as serious science-fiction, drama and action. We see another enemy worthy of the Doctor - The Editor. Quick synopsis and hope you get to watch it soon!

Just watched "DALEK" - WOW!!!

Just finished watching Episode# 6 of Doctor Who last night entitled "Dalek".

Words cannot express what emotions that I experienced last night. It was by far THE BEST EPISODE of the new series, or of ANY Doctor Who show ever broadcast.

I will be doing a review of this tonight and getting that out to y'all.

Sorry about the RSS Feed being screwed up - I just saw last night that iPodder was not bringing down the podcasts from Saturday. I had to redo the XML code to make sure all was proper and is fixed now.

Any other issues, just email me at podcastwho@gmail.com

Whocast #1 - 04.25.05

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!

Here is the premiere of PodcastWho, the podcast dedicated solely to all things Doctor Who.
I am just using this first podcast to introduce listeners to the Doctor Who canon and what they can expect to get out of this podcast. I am going to try to keep the podcasts to 30 minutes or less and get them out on Mondays and Fridays.

The feed for the podcast is: http://homepage.mac.com/dilly13/podcasts/PodcastWho.xml
You can email all comments to me at podcastwho@gmail.com

We'll be reviewing Episodes 4 (Aliens of London) & 5 (World War III) on Friday's Podcast - might have to break this one up into two podcasts, but we'll see.

I will also be keeping the blog up-to-date on current Doctor Who news as it happens during the week and recapping all events on Fridays. Mondays will be primarily reserved for reviewing the current series episode for that week.

Look forward to getting this thing up and running.
Thanks for your patience!

Enjoy!
