Whocast #11 - 06.14.05

Reviewing "Bad Wolf".

FANTASTIC EPISODE - 4 out of 5 TARDIS.

We see the culmination of the entire series coming to a head here in this episode to be finalized this Saturday in the final episode "The Parting of Ways" We see references from the Jon Pertwee and Sylvester McCoy eras, we see how the Doctor's meddling in time and events can come back to haunt him, we see Jack - naked.

Email me or post your guess on who "Bad Wolf" really is. I'll put the results and odds up Friday night before the show airs on Saturday. I'll also reveal who I think "Bad Wolf" may be on Friday's podcast also.

Until then...BE A PURIST...AVOID THE INTERNET (except for this podcast)!!!

(O.K. Take a look at Mickey's site also for his feelings on last week's adventure)

Enjoy!

What an Episode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bad Wold has got to be Davros, although knowing Russell T Davies and his devious mind it's probably Jo Grant.

I enjoyed Podcast 10. Love the hat! but don't worry too much about the video. The whole benefit of the podcast is I can listen to it on my I-Pod and get away from my computer for a while. Video is nice as a once in a while 'treat'

I can see why you would think it could be Jo Grant, but in my opinion, it sounds more like K-9. Did you see the look on the Doctor's face when he turned around to face Bad Wolf? And the voice - absolutely K-9. And the clues: Bad Wolf... bad dog... it all makes sense!

I can TOTALLY see that little tin can resurrecting the Daleks to exact a little revenge on the Doctor and planet Earth. I mean, who would want to spend all those years living with a whiner like Sarah Jane Smith???

Brad,

That's definitely an angle that I never considered. K-9's pissed because the Doctor left him with Sarah Jane (Mark III), Romana (Mark II) and Leela (Mark I). It would be hilarious if that's who it is!

Nice analysis of Bad Wolf. Good brief summary. I especially liked your references to previous Pertwee and McCoy episodes. People have also been comparing the controller to the first appearance of the Emporer Dalek. I'm also very excited about the recent news of a third season of Doctor Who, a second christmas special, and the fact that Billie Piper is staying for all of the second season. And there's rumors that the second season may start at the end of the this year! Glee!

Hi all,
I agree with Mark above, what an episode. A great mix of humour, action, and great plot. I love the line where he is talking to Lynda with a Y saying he was here a 100 years ago. She said something like he doesn't look like it, and he replied he moisturises daily. In the context it was really funny. Then he turns around later to be really angry.
I am really enjoying this doctor, he seems so different than all the others. More real in a way, more emotional and yet detached in a way.
Your podcast was once again excellent, and I am now waiting for the last episode as well as your podcast.
I am also looking forward to you reviewing some older doctor who stories-like the way you are doing with the 1st doctor. Really would like some 2nd and 3rd doctor.
Keep up the good work.

About the identity of Bad Wolf:

I hope that it is slomeone we've never heard of before. I'd love to see the creation of a new villan, hopefully tied in with the Time War.

I think it would be awesome if the Bad Wolf was the Doctor, perhaps a previous or future incarnation. Similar to the theme of another classic british show "The Prisoner".

But if I had to voteon who it probably will be, I'd say Davros. Still, I hope RTD surprises me.

There would be a deafening, collective groan from those of us who have been watching Who for years if Bad Wolf turned out to be some evil, future version of the Doctor... been there, done that, been there, done that, and both times it was mighty lame. At least, I remember it that way.

It really does point to Davros, but I'm open for being surprised.

OK, now i'm loving the K-9 Theory. K-9 taking revenge on earth for not watching his spin off show!! HAHAHA :) Awesome! Bad Wolf did sound a bit like K-9. Personally, I love K-9. Those crappy robot dogs they came out with a few years ago just couldn't compare with K9, even if they looked better. :)

Perhaps I'll pull out my cute little K9 model to watch the episode with me, just in case... If it is K9 he needs to learn that evil and working with the Daleks does NOT pay!
